Stewardship COMMITTEE
(a committee of the Board of Trustees.)
Our mission is to create a culture of stewardship, one in which stewardship is recognized as an essential part of EOCC's mission and vision, and a way of thinking and acting throughout the year.
If you would like to help build such a culture by joining the committee and/or volunteering with an event, speak with any member of the committee ---Danielle Fogg, Doug Fogg, Angela Hobson, Trease Hodge, Tanya Kingsbury, Kara Schreiber, Rachelle Seward--- or contact the main office at (207) 825-3404.
WE ARE THE STEWARDS
ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP DRIVE
March 29 to Consecration Sunday, May 10
The drive is a time for us to reflect on the purpose and power of financial giving. As we know, there are many ways to be a good steward, and not all of them involve money, However, the focus of the Stewardship Drive is financial giving. We all know that EOCC needs money to maintain its facilities and to provide the Christian experience and services that define us as a church.
What is Consecration Sunday?
Consecration Sunday is a time to show thankfulness and appreciation, for expressing gratitude for what God has given us, for what we have, and for what we can do to serve others. Part of the service on Consecration Sunday includes time to offer our financial pledges to help EOCC meet its mission and vision.
A moving testimonial from Jessica Sargent
I am the face of stewardship at EOCC
Hi everyone ❤️ My name is Jessica, and although many of you know me, I’m still pretty new here.
Before joining this church, I was part of a different one, one that I joined at 15 and stayed with for most of my adult life. That church helped me build a strong foundation in Christ, but I also knew it wasn’t the right fit for me. I was often left feeling unworthy of God’s love and blessings, no matter what I did.
Almost seven years ago, I was diagnosed with what would become stage 4 terminal cancer. I made the decision to step away from my church and focus on growing my personal relationship with God. I spent a lot of time reading, praying, and quietly serving others.
About a year and a half ago, I met a young man whose presence in my life was brief, but whose impact was life-changing. He invited me to this little church over half an hour from where I live. A church where I knew nobody but the moment I walked through the doors, I felt like I was home for the first time.
The love that surrounded me here at EOCC was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I have met so many incredible people here… all faces of stewardship.
The friend who sits with me at chemo.
The people who message and call me to check in.
The best hugs from the sweetest women.
The endless prayers.
The comfort of having a friend as my oncology nurse.
The FaceTime call so I could hear one of my favorite songs at a Brandon Lake concert that I was too sick to attend.
And an incredible pastor who is always willing to answer all my random questions.
I promise this list goes on…you have all brought so much to my life.
Because of that love, I feel called to give back—to be a good steward for this church and for all of you.
I am incredibly grateful for all of you, and I hope I can give even a small piece of that love back to someone else.
