Youth Activities

Vacation Bible Experience 2023Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:45 AM.

The Reason, the EOCC Youth Group, meets from 5 - 7 pm on Sundays in Fellowship Hall.  Doors open at 4 for those who want to talk, play games, practice with the praise band, or just hang out!

Thanks to all who helped with The Reason at East Orrington Congregational Church's annual Roadside Trash Pick-Up! 30 people, including the youth of The Reason and The Lighthouse Church of God, along with Select Person Allan Elkin and community members, Susan Patten, Dee & Tim, truck drivers Cody and Peter Hilyard, Weymouth Wilson, and Ray Colford. We covered Fowler Road, Snows Corner Road from Dow Road to Johnson Mill Road, Center Drive from the school to Johnson Mill Road, Johnson Mill Road from Center Drive to Kozy Korner, and Brewer Lake Road from the Brewer Line to the intersection with Long Hill Road. With about 50 more people, we probably could have covered the entire town! That's our goal for next year!
Annual Roadside Trash Pickup

The Reason, along with others willing to help, is offering their services to the community for the week of June 24th - 29th to help those who may be looking for help with painting, yard work, cleaning, repairs, landscaping and other projects. See the Youth Projects page or download a form and return it to EOCC by May 5.

SPRING IS A BUSY TIME FOR OUR YOUTH!

Submitted by Doug Fogg, Youth Ministry Director

Spring is always a busy time for the youth of our church and community, and this year is no exception! We finished up winter with the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and Variety Show on March 16th as well as the Easter Eggstravaganza on the 17th to finish up the winter season, and a great time was had by all! On Easter Sunday, we will serve Easter Dinner to our homeless and needy brothers and sisters at Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor.

On April 13th, 14 of us will travel to Portland’s Merrill Auditorium for the Broadway National Tour of “Jesus Christ, Superstar," Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1971 Rock Opera of the last days of Jesus, as seen through the perspective of Judas Iscariot.

Our annual Roadside Trash Clean-up in conjunction with Earth Day will take place on Sunday, April 21st, starting at 3pm. We encourage any and all to join us! The more people available, the more roads of our community that we will be able to cover!

In April we will also begin a study of the Bible book of Daniel. Given that Daniel was probably a teenager when he was exiled to Assyria, having to live his faith in a society hostile towards it, we thought this would be an excellent study to inform our own efforts to live our faith in our modern society!
